ASPEN – American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition
A.S.P.E.N. is a professional organization whose members are involved in the provision of clinical nutrition therapies including parenteral and enteral nutrition. Its nearly 6,000 members are physicians, nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, scientists and other allied health professionals.

ADA – American Dietetic Association
ADA serves the public through the promotion of optimal nutrition, health and well-being. With nearly 70,000 members, it is the largest group of food and nutrition professionals in the nation. It's open to those who meet academic and experience requirements established by the Association. Members include clinical and community dietetics professionals, consultants, food service managers, educators, researchers, dietetic technicians and students.

ADA – American Diabetes Association
The American Diabetes Association is the nation's leading nonprofit health organization providing diabetes research, information and advocacy. Founded in 1940, the American Diabetes Association conducts programs in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, reaching hundreds of communities.

The mission of the Association is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. To fulfill this mission, the American Diabetes Association funds research, publishes scientific findings, provides information and other services to people with diabetes, their families, health professionals and the public. The Association is also actively involved in advocating for scientific research and for the rights of people with diabetes.

NASPGHAN – North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition
The mission of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition is to be a world leader in advancing the science and clinical practice of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition in health and disease. The membership of NASPGHAN consists of more than 800 pediatric gastroenterologists, predominantly in 46 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and 8 provinces in Canada. NASPGHAN strives to improve the care of infants, children and adolescents with digestive disorders by promoting advances in clinical care, research and education.

AGA – American Gastroenterological Association
The AGA is dedicated to the mission of advancing the science and practice of gastroenterology. Founded in 1897, the American Gastroenterological Association is the oldest medical specialty society in the United States. The AGA's 14,000 members include physicians and scientists who research, diagnose and treat disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and liver. On a monthly basis, the AGA publishes two highly respected journals, Gastroenterology and Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology. The AGA's annual meeting is Digestive Disease Week®, which is held each May and is the largest international gathering of physicians, researchers and academics in the fields of gastroenterology, hepatology, endoscopy and gastrointestinal surgery.

AAWM – American Academy of Wound Management
AAWM is a voluntary, not-for-profit organization established for the purpose of credentialing interdisciplinary practitioners in the field of wound management. The organization was founded by individuals with years of experience in wound care who are dedicated to helping patients who suffer from acute and chronic wounds of various etiology. The board of advisors is an interdisciplinary panel of experts in the field of wound care consisting of practitioners, academicians and researchers. The American Academy of Wound Management is a full voting member of the National Organization for Competency Assurance (NOCA).

JCAHO – Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations
The Joint Commission evaluates and accredits nearly 20,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. An independent, not-for-profit organization, the Joint Commission is the nation's predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in health care. Since 1951, the Joint Commission has developed state-of-the-art, professionally based standards and evaluated the compliance of health care organizations against these benchmarks.

NAHC – National Association for Home Care and Hospice
NAHC is the nation's largest trade association representing the interests and concerns of home care agencies, hospices, home care aide organizations and medical equipment suppliers. It is the one organization dedicated to making home care and hospice providers' lives easier. From professional development to fighting for better regulation, from knowing all angles of federal and state regulations to providing the latest information affecting home care and hospice, NAHC stands ready to serve the needs of home care and hospice professionals.

HIDN – U.S. Aid: Office of Health, Infectious Diseases & Nutrition
The U.S. Agency for International Development's (USAID) programs in global health represent the commitment and determination of the U.S. government to prevent suffering, save lives and create a brighter future for families in the developing world. USAID's commitment to improving global health includes confronting global health challenges through improving the quality, availability and use of essential health services. NIH – National Institutes of Health
NIH is the steward of medical and behavioral research for the nation. Its mission is science in pursuit of fundamental knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems and the application of that knowledge to extend healthy life and reduce the burdens of illness and disability. Oley Foundation
Founded in 1983, the Oley Foundation provides information and psychosocial support to consumers dependent upon home parenteral (IV) and enteral (tube-fed) nutrition, helping them live fuller, richer lives. All services are free of charge to consumers and their families.

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to assure the development of the means to cure and control cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease.

National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Disease – National Institutes of Health
The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases conducts and supports research on many of the most serious diseases affecting public health. The Institute supports much of the clinical research on the diseases of internal medicine and related subspecialty fields as well as many basic science disciplines.

Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA)
CCFA's mission is to cure and prevent Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis through research and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these digestive diseases through education and support. CCFA sponsors basic and clinical research of the highest quality. The foundation also offers a wide range of educational programs for patients and health-care professionals and provides supportive services to help people cope with these chronic intestinal diseases. These programs are supported solely by contributions from the public.

NPUAP – National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel
The NPUAP provides multidisciplinary leadership for improved patient outcomes in pressure ulcer prevention and management through education, public policy and research.

WOCN – Wound Ostomy & Continence Nurses Society
The WOCN Society is a professional nursing society that supports its members by promoting educational, clinical and research opportunities to advance the practice and guide the delivery of expert health care to individuals with wounds, ostomies and incontinence.

NCND – National Center for Nutrition & Dietetics
Consumer hotline (800) 366-1655. For timely, practical food and nutrition information, consumers can call or e-mail the award-winning nutrition information line staffed by registered dietitians. They can listen to food and nutrition messages recorded by a registered dietitian in English or Spanish from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Central Time), Monday through Friday. They can also provide a referral to an RD in their area from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for individual or group nutrition counseling services.
